The Yangtze µ PTCA catheter is a double lumen catheter with a balloon located near the distal tip. The distal tip comprises two lumens, one is used for inflation of the semi-compliant balloon and the other permits the use of a guidewire (0.014″ max.) to enable advancement of the catheter to and through the stenosis to be dilated. A soft tip has been placed at the distal part for an atraumatic stenosis crossing.
In order to aid accurate balloon placement under fluoroscopy a radiopaque marker is located at both the proximal and distal end of the balloon (Ø1.5 – 5.00mm).
To aid advancement to the target lesion the rapid exchange part of the Yangtze µ is covered with a hydrophilic coating. The proximal shaft is made of a stainless steel hypotube offering platform support and push compliance. Proximal visual markers located approximately 90cm and 100cm from the distal tip aid catheter positioning without fluoroscopy assistance.
